'Virtual' Holy Week

As we are very sadly unable to meet in our church building, Holy Week and Easter will look somewhat different.

Below, you can read about our plans and how you can worship at home in this

most precious of weeks.

You can download the Orders of Service for Holy Week here. As well as the liturgy, these will have some suggestions as to how you may participate more fully at home.

We recognise Zoom and Facebook live-stream are unfamiliar to some: please do

get in touch if you'd like a practice session/tutorial. Click here for a Zoom 'Handy Hints' guide.

We have also put together some appropriate images for Holy Week with some short prayers. You may find these helpful in your reflections. Click here to view them.

For the more creative among you, we are also looking to create a Church and Community singing project. Click here for more info.

PALM SUNDAY

5th April

10am: Live streamed Eucharist

10am Live streamed Eucharist

(download the order of service)

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy week by commemorating Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.

Although we won't be able to physically mark this, a Eucharist will be live streamed hereThis is done on Facebook: you don't need to be a member to view.

Palm Crosses will be blessed ready to be given out when we meet, but you might like to make a cross from sticks out of the garden, or an origami cross by following the instructions here or here.

When you go out for your daily exercise, why not take a video on your phone of you walking with your cross? Send it to Rev James and we can share it online:

revjamespacey@gmail.com or 075950 353 42.

MAUNDY THURSDAY

Followed by live streamed Prayer Vigil til midnight

Maundy Thursday, 9th April:

7.30pm: 'Zoom' Agape Meal

(download the order of service)

In normal years, Maundy Thursday would begin with an agape meal. This year, we are encouraging everyone at 7.30 to eat so we are united in fellowship.

For those who would like and are able to, we are suggesting this could take place via Zoom: a virtual conferencing facility. This would mean we could see and chat to one another in an approximation of normal times!

If you would like to join in with that, either:

email the Vicar or fill in the form below.

Rev James will then send a link out to people with joining instructions.

   Zoom Agape meal

Holy Communion and Prayer Vigil

A Eucharist will then be offered on behalf of us all. You may wish to join in with the act of stripping the altars at home.

A live streamed prayer vigil will then take place til midnight here. Feel free to send any prayer requests in and they will be offered silently during the vigil.

2pm - 'Zoom' Stations of the Cross

(download the order of service)

We prepare for the hour of Jesus' Crucifixion by prayerfully marking out the journey He made to the cross.

We are proposing doing this via 'Zoom.' If you would like to join in with that, either email the Vicar or fill in the form below.  Rev James will then send a link out to people with joining instructions..
