COVID: PRACTICAL ASSISTANCE
In these continued times of uncertainty and difficulty, we have set up, and are partnering with, various community initiatives to offer help and assistance.
Do have a read of them below.

Bags of Blessing
We're joining forces with Sherwood Methodist church to donate to Bags of Blessing, a scheme whereby you can donate small items such for children and teenagers that might not otherwise receive many gifts at Christmas.
They are particularly appealing for donations for:
- Notebooks suitable for teenagers
- Stationary suitable for teenagers
- Gifts suitable for teenagers, especially boys
- Books suitable for teenage boys.
Or you could donate a One4All gift card - available from lots of stores and the Post Office - that could be given to a teenager or a child.
Donations can be brought to SMC on either Thursday 19th or 26th November between 10-12.00noon. Alternatively donations can be left at St John’s vicarage at any time between 14th & 25th November.
St. John's Carrington Food Bank
As we are unable to continue with our Community Cafe for the moment, we are creating a foodbank aimed at providing food for families in need - no questions asked.
Do get in touch with us if you would like to make use of this facility. Contact Susi Artis on: 07903 115 327
Carrington Community Support Group
A group run by local residents wanting to support the local community in this time of COVID.
In these uncertain times, the group wants to ensure can access support if needed. They are not affiliated with any group and they do not want anything in return.
The group can help with:
- Food shopping
- Picking up prescriptions
- A friendly phone call
- Posting mail
Get in touch with them by calling or texting: 07377 251 735
NB: This is a group run by local residents, not St. John's Carrington.
Our neighbours at St. Martin's Sherwood have teamed up with the Crimson Tree to set up 'Nourish Sherwood', a weekly provision of free, freshly prepared food for those who, for whatever reason, need some help at the moment. They will be providing take away hot meals every Monday at Crimson Tree between 3.15pm to 4.30pm. All staff are volunteers and no monies will be used for anything other than food and packaging.
