Online Advent Calendar
This Advent, we need you!
In Advent, we prepare for the coming of Jesus in the manger.
Now, more than ever, we need to hold onto the hope of Emmanuel - God with us.
What does that phrase mean to you?
In these times of social distance, we want to create an online Advent Calendar of people from across our community.
All you need to do is produce a short video of what 'God is with us' means to you. It might be a reflection, a poem or a piece of music.
These will then be released daily on our Facebook page throughout Advent.
If you're interested, get in touch with the Vicar, Rev. James Pacey at or send your videos using wetransfer.com
Sunday 22nd December
6th December, 10am
Join us for our annual Christingle Eucharist service!
Using the various elements that make up the Christingle, we will reflect on God's love for the world and great gift in giving us Jesus Christ.
After making our Christingles and lighting them, we take our thanks and praise into our service of Holy Communion.
All available seating has now been allocated, however the service will be live-streamed and 'Christingle packs' will be available to collect from the Vicarage from the evening of 5th December for you to make at home.
Sunday 6th December
Online Carol Service
20th December, 6pm
This would normally be our annual service of Nine Lessons and Carols. Due to the current situation, this will be an online service, made available on our Facebook page and our church website and feature contributions from people from across our community.
Though different from normal, this will remain a beautiful start to the Christmas where we will hear familiar melodies and listen to the great story of God's salvation in scripture, culminating in the great narrative of Christmas.
Zoomed Nativity Service
Christmas Eve, 2pm and 3pm
For many, one of the highlights of the Christmas season, our Crib Service is a fun occasion for all the family.
This year, circumstances have compelled us to do something a little bit different. As such, we'll be using Zoom to have a short, but fun, re-telling of the Nativity Story.
We will be having two services and we are asking people to book in. Once you have booked in, you will receive an email confirmation with the Zoom link.
Come and join in the fun - and come dressed as an Angel, Wise Man or Shepherd!
Please note: all children must be accompanied throughout the Zoomed service by an adult.
or email firstname.lastname@example.org
NB: Please specify which Crib service you're booking for and for how many adults and children.
Christmas Eve, 11.30pm
Join us for the first Eucharist of Christmas as we welcome and celebrate the birth of Jesus with scripture readings, music and finally the consecration of bread and wine received as Christ's body and blood.
A beautiful and deeply moving way to see in Christmas.
