Online Advent Calendar
This Advent, we need you!
In Advent, we prepare for the coming of Jesus in the manger.
Now, more than ever, we need to hold onto the hope of Emmanuel - God with us.
What does that phrase mean to you?
In these times of social distance, we want to create an online Advent Calendar of people from across our community.
All you need to do is produce a short video of what 'God is with us' means to you. It might be a reflection, a poem or a piece of music.
These will then be released daily on our Facebook page throughout Advent.
If you're interested, get in touch with the Vicar, Rev. James Pacey at or send your videos using wetransfer.com
Sunday 22nd December
2nd December, 10am
Join us for our annual Christingle Eucharist service!
Using the various elements that make up the Christingle, we will reflect on God's love for the world and great gift in giving us Jesus Christ.
After making our Christingles and lighting them, we take our thanks and praise into our service of Holy Communion.
If you don't want to come 'in person', the service will be live-streamed and 'Christingle packs' will be available to collect from the Vicarage for you to make at home.
Sunday 6th December
Music and Readings for Christmas
20th December, 6pm
This would normally be our annual service of Nine Lessons and Carols. Though we are unable to sing as a congregation, this beautiful service will involve candlelight, traditional readings and music.
Different from normal, this will remain a beautiful start to the Christmsas season where, in the beautiful surrounding of St. John's Church, we will hear familiar melodies and listen to the great story of God's salvation in scripture, culminating in the great narrative of Christmas.
This service will also be live-streamed
Christmas Eve, 2.30pm, 4pm
For many, one of the highlights of the Christmas season, our Crib Service is a fun occasion for all the family.
Over the space of half an hour and using willing we tell the story of Jesus' birth before gathering around the altar to sing.
Come and join in the fun - and come dressed as an Angel, Wise Man or Shepherd!
Please note: to ensure we adhere to social distancing and the Rule of 6, booking is essential.
