This church relies for its continued existence on the regular, committed giving – financial and practical – of everyone who is in any way a part of our fellowship. All regular members are encouraged to give, sacrificially , by bank standing order (and to Gift Aid their giving if they are taxpayers). Peter Green, Hon PCC Treasurer can give you the forms to give by SO and for Gift Aid; they are also available in the parish office. Everyone , whether tentative enquirers or casual visitors, is asked to give financially as generously as they are able . Thank you.

To raise funds for our church, try this when shopping online. It costs the user nothing and seems simple. The link below takes you directly to our giving link to their website and from there you can navigate to the many online businesses that participate, such as M&S, John Lewis', and many more. Anything you buy online from the participating businesses can earn a few pounds of commission for St John's . Go to

AND IT DOESN'T COST YOU ANYTHING EXTRA!

Annual Parish pilgrimage to Walsingham: Dates: Friday 28th September 2012 to Sunday 30th September 2012. 15 places have been booked on Full Board Basis. Cost Adults £115.40, Children £69.24, Under 5 free. See Ray Hotson to reserve your place(s).

Note: on Ash Wednesday there will be just the one Mass at St John's: i.e. the “Magnificent Seven” celebration in the evening at 7.30pm . The usual 10am Wednesday Mass is cancelled for that week only . This is to encourage the whole church community to gather as one; the Mission week will encourage us all to step outside our usual comfort zones and take the chance of learning and growing.

TRANSPORT OFFERED for anyone who needs help to get to any of the Magnificent 7 liturgies. Please see one of the wardens TODAY!

In your prayers please remember Hussein Khedri , a young man from Afghanistan who suffers with significant mental health issues, and who has been living in accommodation provided by the Nottingham Arimathea Trust, now imminently faces deportation, possibly on Monday.

Please also remember in your prayers The Revd Graham Hadfield , who presides at his last services as vicar of St Jude's, Mapperley next Sunday (26 February). Graham is taking early retirement from full-time, stipendiary ministry.

The Nottingham Bach Choir (who regularly rehearse in St John's on Tuesday evenings) present the Bach St Matthew Passion in Southwell Minster on Saturday 24 March . The concert starts at 4pm, there is a supper break from 5.15 ‘til 7.30pm, and tickets (including for the supper break) are available via Maggie Jones or Jonathan (of the vicar variety)
